Teen Programs

Earning a driver’s license has long been a rite of passage for teenagers. Nova is pleased to offer both In-Class Instruction and Behind-The-Wheel (BTW) Lessons to teens throughout the Chicagoland Area. To earn a driver’s license, teen students must start by completing both a classroom and Behind-The-Wheel (BTW, also known as “Range”) course, in accordance with Illinois requirements.

COMPLETE COURSES OPTIONS
CLASSROOM + BEHIND-THE-WHEEL LESSONS

Typical class schedules are twice/week – Mon/Wed, Tues/Thurs, or Sat/Sun. Summer and special holiday hours also include Mon-Thurs (four times/week). Students must complete all classes and classwork, but can only miss up to four sessions.

Students also enrolled in BTW lessons are eligible to take their permit exam after their fourth day of class.

If none of our currently planned classes fit your teen’s schedule, we will work with you to create a custom lesson schedule. Contact us for further information.

Contact us also for partial payment options (get started with classroom, and finish payment for range hours at a later date).

PARTIAL COURSE OPTIONS
(CLASSROOM PROGRAM ONLY, OR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL LESSONS ONLY)

IMPORTANT: Partial programs require that the teen will either seek driving hours and the permit at another school (classroom only), or have already completed the classroom course and can provide proof (Behind-The-Wheel only). Visit this link for further details

Classroom-only programs are for teens who are planning to complete their driving hours at another school, or who are otherwise only interested in classroom hours, and not in obtaining the Driver’s License before turning 18.

Behind-The-Wheel only programs are for teens who have completed classroom hours at their high school, but still need to do the required driving hours with a certified instructor. Teens who want state certification will need to provide proof of in-class completion with a passing grade and school information, and complete all minumum driving hour requirements.

Students needing just extra practice will only need a permit, but the teen/parent must specify they are only seeking extra practice during registration.
