How to Respond to a Tire Blowout:
- 1) Keep a firm grip on the steering wheel.
- 2) Ease off the accelerator pedal, but don’t brake. Braking could cause a loss of vehicle control.
- 3) Activate your directional signal and steer toward the shoulder of the road.
- 4) As the car slows, brake gently and bring the vehicle to a stop.
- 5) Shift to Park, set the parking brake, and activate your hazard flashers.
- 6) Exit the vehicle and evaluate the situation.
