  • Remember that driving onto the shoulder or driving off the pavement is not permitted when passing on the right or left.
  • Driving in the gravel or dirt on the side of the road when attempting to pass another car (especially on the right shoulder) is illegal.

Passing: Bicyclist

  • If you encounter a bicyclist or pedestrian on the road or on the shoulder of the road, the law requires you to leave 3 feet between your car and the side of the bicyclist in order to minimize the risk of a collision.
