Pavement Markings
Pavement markings help drivers stay out of danger by indicating where it is safe to drive.
- Edge lines are solid lines that show where the pavement ends and the shoulder of the road begins.
- Driving on the shoulder of the road is prohibited.
- Solid white lines are used on the right edge of the roadway.
- Solid yellow lines are used on the left side of divided streets or roadways, such as roads that have a concrete median separating two opposite directions of traffic.
