Traffic Signals

  • Red light:
    • When the traffic signal displays a red light, a driver must come to a stop at the marked stop line.
    • Marked stop line- the thick, painted line before an intersection.
    • If there is no marked stop line, a driver should stop before entering the crosswalk.
    • If there is no crosswalk, a driver should stop before entering the intersection.
    • Do not proceed until the light is green & intersection is clear.
  • Yellow Light:
    • The yellow light warns that the traffic signal is changing from green to red.
    • When the red light appears, you may not enter the intersection.
  • Green Light:
    • When the traffic signal displays a green light, you may proceed.
    • Always yield the right-of-way to any pedestrians and vehicles in the intersection or crosswalk.
