- Do not use cruise control in the rain. As noted on the previous slide, your best defense to hydroplaning is to ease off the gas pedal. If you were to drive with cruise control activated, you would need to search for the Off button quickly to disengage the system.
- Many motorists instinctively hit the brake pedal when they want to disengage cruise control. Applying the brakes when your car has poor traction could send the vehicle into a skid. For these reasons, it is best to not use cruise control in wet conditions.
