Road Condition

  • When driving in the fall, be aware of the danger posed by wet leaves. If the leaves are stuck to the pavement, your car’s tire will grip the leaves rather than the pavement when you apply the brakes. As a result, you could end up going into a skid. Travel slowly when you see wet leaves on the pavement.

The fall foliage looks great on trees, but on the road, wet leaves contribute to reduced traction and skids when drivers try to stop suddenly.
