- If your tires are underinflated, only the outer edges of your tire will grip the road. If your tires are overinflated, though, only the center of the tire will come in contact with the road. Before driving, do a brief visual inspection of your tires. If any tire looks underinflated, take out a tire gauge and measure the tire’s pressure. If the pressure is low, stop by a gas station and add air to achieve proper inflation.
