- Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for people between the ages of 15 to 24.
- Approximately 11,000 people aged 15 to 24 years old die in vehicle crashes in the U.S. each year.
- Auto crashes cause 1 out of 3 deaths of 15-24 year-olds.
- Drivers between 15 and 24 represent 14 percent of licensed drivers, but they represent 27 percent of those involved in crashes.
